News Flash: Trooper shoots family dog.

Apparently trooper Michael Current shot a neighbors dog after work.

1. Why does anyone let cops take their damn guns home?
2. Who shoots a dog? Really!

I think it would be better to shoot a trooper than a dog. But, that’s just me. And I figure, you only shoot something that can shoot back.

BTW, I got caught in the middle of that bank robbery absurdity that went down today. The feeling of being in the midst of a half dozen idiots drawing guns is a helluva rush. Seriously, who gives these people guns. The sight of 5 of the black and blue chasing a fat, border-line-homeless guy down was well worth the potential of catching a stray slug in the chest. Good day to wear a vest, I’d say. Good day.

Yep, we’ve been rather quiet recently. Although, if you’ve been around the neighborhood, the Mint has been buzzing with activity. So, here’s the quick update. Construction is well under way. We’re about a week and a half to two weeks ahead of schedule and that is due to some real champs on the force digging in and getting the work done. Big ups to Papa Joe, J, Matty J, Chad, Steve and Bob and a few other fine folks who have been crackin’ down on the hard work recently.

If I’ve missed anyone who’s had a hand in this, I apologize. I’ve just spent the past two hours inhaling 57 year old ceiling tile and rusty sheet metal that some old miser has been stashing away in crawl spaces and attics, selfishly waiting for a post-WWIII Iowa to emerge and build himself a shanty.

I’ve finally retired the Dukeberry. After two years of handling my business via the Dukeberry, I’ve made the change. I picked up an iDuke the other day and so far, couldn’t be happier. Do what you will with this information.

About to head down to the Fleur to see the second round of 48 hour films. Best of luck to white poison!

Health care reform is well over due. And I’m backing President Obama on this one. I believe that everyone should have access to decent medical care and that doctors need to start acting like doctors and not like the little beaten step-child of Big Insurance.

Let’s face it. The root of the whole problem is with insurance companies. They are the ones to dictate what sort of coverage you get. These companies tell you what they’ll pay for your medical costs. Doctors simply have been beaten by the fight. Meanwhile, the fat cats at the top of these companies are getting rich, while decent citizens are struggling.

And its high time for a change. Hopefully, Congress can put their politics aside and do something good for the country.

Few bands really give me pause these days. I’m talking about bands that make you stop everything you’re doing and just stare.

Galactic is one of those bands. I’ve heard a couple of their albums, but the recorded material pales in comparison to the live experience. Standing among the crowd gathered at the Mile High Festival, I was absolutely blown away by their set.

Besides, $trick9 & The Truth are playing. Botics will be on hand and you’ve probably got access to lots of mind-altering drugs, random phone numbers that you haven’t yet dialed and a stomach for drinking yourself into an inappropriate situation.

So, throw caution to the wind and come down to the VAUDEVILLE MEWS TONIGHT AT 9 PM TO SEE $TRICK9 & THE TRUTH ROCK IT OUT WITH HOLD FOR SWANK AND SOME OTHER FOLKS.
