This tip is so quick and easy you won’t believe your eyes-or how much time and cash you save!!
Use a clear lip gloss (I love Hard Candy-clear) and a good eyeliner brush. Coat the brush in the gloss and choose any color of eyeshadow to drag the brush through. Be careful to make sure that the powdered shadow isĀ mixed well with the gloss and then line your eyes. The gloss turns the pigments into a really thick paste so you’ll want to use a high quality shadow with lots of pigment-MAC or L’oreal HIP shadows are great for this.-and you can afford to spend more on shadow if they do double duty as liner as well!
Enjoy, lovelies!
So, after Whiplash Willy, I started playing a lot of solo acoustic stuff and inevitably ended up playing rhythm guitar for a while. $trick9 was off doing his own thing, writing rhymes and I was in the midst of a roots rock revolution. I ended up rehearsing with a couple guys that were more or less classic rock/blues, but that didn’t pan out. While I was playing with them, I was playing a Fender Highway One Stratocaster through a Fender Stage Lead 1000 amp. It was a crazy good set up. I ended up with a bunch of pedals, including an original Tube Screamer, a few cool chorus pedals and an Eric Clapton modeler pedal, which produced some near-Clapton sounds. (Alas, I am a bassist, so none of this stuck.) Continue reading ‘Duke’s Basses – The Fretless Jazz’

The David Haack Trio’s latest CD, “Who Am I” came out April 25. All the tracks on it hit iTunes later this month. But because we love you, we’ll let you listen to it here first. Click on the White Noise music player to your right.
The CD plays like a musical diary. David clearly put a lot of thought into the CD as a whole, not just individual songs, so listen to it from start to finish. Pay close attention to Haack’s guitar work. It really shines on this album. Colin Peterson’s bass gives a solid, almost retro feel, especially to the rock tracks. Master of rhythm Patrick Baker’s drums rumble and his high hat pitter patters all the way through. Catchy originals come straight from the heart and David’s vocals reveal his vulnerable side.

So, for a while, Nine’s been telling me I need to write up something about the gear I’ve used. If you’ve been following us for any length of time, you may realize that I’ve been playing different basses for almost as many shows as we play. That’s sort of a side hobby of mine…collecting and moving along great basses, so I decided to take a walk down memory lane. Continue reading ‘Duke’s Basses – The Ibanez CT Bass’
