KJ: Hey, Tommy! How are ya??
TL: I’m phenomenal…and yourself?
KJ: Just touched down in Nyc…. great to catch up with you!
KJ: So…you guys just opened up for Bret Micheals on Rock of Love tour bus! I love that show. Anyway. Did ya meet any of the Poison frontman’s ladies in Reality TV waiting???
TL: Unfortunately, none of the Rock of Love girls were on the tour. What a rip off..huh? I mean seriously, who goes to this show to see Bret? Just kidding! Actually, the show was done taping by the time this part of the tour rolled out.
KJ: What was the most obscure thing in your luggage?
TL: My drummer, Marty E…still don’t know how he got there!
KJ: Being the frontman of like, a kinda badass band who has also opened for The New York Dolls, Twisted Sister and made exceeded ticket selling records at the Bowery Ballroom over even, my favorite trainwreck, Amy Winehouse, do hipster chicks (you know the type) just like come up to you on the street and go fucking nuts???
TL: It was an amazing thrill to open up for these rock legends, especially the New York Dolls since I feel we are kind of a modern day version of them. The last time we played the Bowery was really overwhelming. When we heard we beat the attendance record set by Amy Winehouse, we were in shock. And now here we are getting ready to do it all again! But due to those shows, and all around exposure of the band, we have all started to be recognized on the streets. Sometimes some of the girlies do go crazy. But…uhh…I ain’t complaining!
KJ: Can ya tell us here at White Poison Industries about your newest song to date ???
TL: Yea, just wrote three new songs actually. “Dancing On My Grave”, “Camille” and “Legs For Days”. Have a few more in the works as well. Would love to do a summer show where we debut and strictly play all the new tunes.
KJ: Know WHO! is the absolute most interesting fucking person you have met in this whirlwind of excitement that has been happening for you guys this past year??
TL: For me I think it was producer Jack Douglas. Jack has worked with the likes of John Lennon, David Bowie, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick the New York Dolls and more! It was really great to meet the man who helped develop and mold their sound that we are all familiar with today. I hope someday to work with him as well. Cross your fingers.
KJ: I’ve heard you been called “the Dean Martin of Rock” in terms of your swagger and on-stage presence. indulge me, my friend. what are your secrets to really rockin’ it??
TL: Yea I heard I have been called that as well. Can’t complain about that title. Dean Martin was one of the coolest people on the planet, so those are some pretty big shoes to fill, though I’m flattered by the comment! There’s no feeling in the world like getting on that stage and seeing the people react to your music. I pretty much feed off the energy of the crowd and give it right back at them. I especially love the whole “improv” feeling of performing, especially when you talk and interact with individual audience members. Such a rush.
KJ; Fashion and Music are, and have always been highly intertwined…. who are you favorite influences and fashion/rock icons??
TL: There are so many, Elvis Presley and Mick Jagger come to mind. I mean these guys could wear an ape suit and make it look fucking cool. But growing up I always admired Steven Tyler for his look, his voice and stage presence. I would have to say he was my #1 influence.
KJ: What is like one of the craziest and latest rumours you have heard about yourself??
TL:That it’s 9 inches, but it’s really just 8 1/2″. Of course I’m talking about my new wireless microphone.
KJ: What are you thinking about right now??
TL: Honestly, that big rock show we will be doing tomorrow night as we return to the historical bowery ballroom for round two! The show starts at 8pm with Chainsaw Trio, Neil Nathan, Statues Of Liberty and then us, The Dirty Pearls. It’s gonna be a KILLER rock show…trust me.

I am so looking forward to seeing the Dirty Pearls, not to mention, the one and only Kelli Jo!
Excellent work!
dean martin’s cool and gene simmons’ tongue. of course hipster chicks are throwing themselves at you! great write up k-jo!
