PS – I was actually watching cave exploration videos on youtube (I know, I’m a lame fuck), so I’m down for some cycling/hiking. Hopefully we get moved down to DSM in May. ‘Smake it happen.
Oh man, spelunking is a GREAT idea for an outdoor activity. There are some fun caves that are easy for beginners in eastern Iowa around Maquoketa. I had a blast there when I was a kid. Road trip!
Also, I think the peppermint scent you’re getting from the northwest hippies might be tea tree oil. It’s got a minty smell and lots of hippies use it for cleaning because it’s a natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
