That Peeping Tom album came out the week before Sofia was born, so anytime I listen to that album or think about it, I always associate being in the hospital and driving back home to change and shower while listening to Patton croon and pretend like it's hip hop. I love it!

I've only seen him live two times, both with supergroup Tomahawk. I saw them in Chicago the week their first album was released in early November 2001 at the Metro. The next time I saw them was in 2003 at the Quest Club with the Melvins on the Geek Tour after Mit Gas was released. Phenomenal show. I was front row center right in front of Patton's deck, and the one thing that I recall loving is that he comes out and does his own soundcheck. Of course he probably has to with all the gadgets and noise samples he pumps through there.

I have nearly every album that Patton has released or been a part of, including his really obtuse and rare stuff - like Malador.

Here's some clips of his more diverse stuff -

MONDO CANE

MOONCHILD- (Zorn project with Dunn and Patton from bungle)

Here's an encore after that show - he has an album that's akin to this stuff from '96 that I have called "Adult Themes for Voice". It's very odd, and very excellent.

---

And of course, my all time favorite Patton project (because of the players involved LOMBARDO, KING BUZZO, and TREVOR DUNN). Fantômas.
(Covering Al Green)
