All trends aside, I’m definitely a mani-pedi girl. I can’t count the number of times I’ve had appreciative or envious comments made on my pedicure-even during the winter months I try to keep my finger and toe nails looking pretty. That way I’m put together-even if the polish is all I’m wearing….which is rare, but I’m saving the lingerie classes for an entire semester.
I’d like to offer a few tips that trial and error have proven useful to me:
1. If you are going to do more than shape your fingernails and add add clear polish be prepared for a lot of maintenance. Chipped nails look absolutely awful. I love “Nic’s Stics” by OPI’s Nicole line. They come in a stick form that you pump-way handier than carrying around a bottle of nail polish to fix every little chip. Also-the lighter the color the less noticeable the wear and tear on your color. Bottom and top coats also help polish last longer. Though dark hues are attention getting and fabulous, I tend to maintain my pale pinks and peaches on my fingers.
2. Toes seem to stand up to more punishment, and I enjoy striking colors there. I can’t think of a color I haven’t tried. And winter provides the perfect chance to stretch the limits on your comfort zone: bright colors can be test driven-you aren’t likely to have the general color noticing your canary yellow or merlot colored pedicure under your warm socks and sexy boots, right? And anyone lucky enough to see you without your footwear would be a moron to impolitely comment on your toes.
3. You do not have to have professional services every time you touch up. I rarely need to visit salons for my nails-with practice, a steady hand, and a few basics you can learn to do this kind of beauty basic on your own in no time flat! Don’t believe me? 3 lucky readers will be provided all of my favorite tools to perfect your toes and fingertips. The only catch? We want before and after shots!!

Make it quick, ladies. Half assed letters (which will be published-personal info won’t…duh.) or incomplete info will NOT get you any toys. Nor will procrastination. Prizes not won by the end of the week will be donated to a women’s shelter or some poorly dressed girl I see wandering the mall….
